On your own now

As the family gathered for a big dinner together, the youngest son announced that he had just signed up at an army recruiter's office.

There were audible gasps around the table, then some laughter, as his older brothers shared their disbelief that he could handle this new situation. "Oh, come on, quit joking," snickered one. "You didn't really do that, did you?" "You would never get through basic training," scoffed another.

The new recruit looked to his mother for help, but she was just gazing at him. When she finally spoke, she simply asked, "Do you really plan to make your own bed every morning?"

Army - Appropriate Clothing Must Always Be Worn

Brigadier Preston-Jago of the Royal Army Maintenance Corps was undergoing a court-martial for an incident where he was found to be chasing a young lady through the hallways of the Grafton Hotel, Catterick, Yorkshire, England, in which they were both residing.

Neither of them was wearing any clothing whatsoever. The main charge was that of "being out of uniform."
The Brigadier's lawyer, a clever cove, argued that the officer was not "out of uniform", as the regulations read, 'An Army officer must be at all times be appropriately attired for the activity in which he is engaged.'

Brigadier Preston-Jago was acquitted.
