The gorgeous and multi-talented Eva Longoria is set to host and produce the ALMA awards airing on ABC June 5. Eva said on the In Style website"I used to be a seat filler back in the day," of her previous appearances at the awards show. "So it has really come full circle for me. Now I get to host and produce it." Longoria competed at IMTA in Los Angeles in 1998. Her break-through role has been as Gabrielle Solis on ABC's smash hit Desperate Housewives. Besides being named Maxim magazine's #1 on the Hot 100 List, appearing on numerous magazine covers, she has been named L'Oreal and Bebe Sport's spokeswoman as well.
The ALMA awards will tape on Friday, June 1 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium and air Tuesday June 5 on ABC. The two-hour special is presented by the National Council of La Raza, the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S. The annual ALMA (American Latino Media Arts) Awards special recognizes and celebrates the outstanding artistic achievement of Latinos in film, television and music. The film Bobby which stars two IMTA alums, Elijah Wood and Ashton Kutcher has been nominated for Outstanding Picture and Director.
